Entropix Welcomes Frazer McKie to its Growing Team of Enzyme Development Specialists

Frazer McKie has recently joined the business as a Research Scientist after completing his industrial research project with Entropix.

Frazer has recently completed his MSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (Distinction) and developed codon optimisation software for Entropix’s protein workflow. He brings a wealth of skills and experience in biochemical engineering, cellular systems engineering, programming and statistical analysis that will help advance our enzyme development work.

Frazer has previous experience managing a high throughput diagnostic laboratory for COVID-19 as a Bioscience Lead (BSL), teaching lab scientists RNA extraction techniques and handling group 3 pathogenic virus samples. He also brings management and leadership experience gained as an Officer Cadet in the Yorkshire Officer Training Regiment during which time he led cadets through a range of high-pressure combat scenarios and environments.

Co-founder and CEO Dr Rob Rule said “We are pleased to welcome Frazer to Entropix having seen his excellent work in producing codon optimisation programs and growing our protein development capabilities. Frazer’s knowledge and experience in biochemical engineering, computational biology and laboratory management will prove valuable as we continue to advance the development of novel enzymes through directed evolution”.
