Following the recent development of the NADA™ technology for the rapid and effective capture and recovery of nucleic acids, we are delighted to announce that Entropix has created a magnetic bead version of the technology known as MagNADA™. This magnetic bead format is designed for high throughput instruments (e.g. automated DNA sequencing workflows) and delivers similar yield and quality to the original NADA™ formulations.
James Florence, Senior Research Scientist at Entropix who developed the MagNADA™ bead formulation said “when our customers started testing our new NADA™ solutions they requested a magnetic bead format as an easy ‘drop-in’ replacement for current bead-based products in automated instruments. After some optimization and validation, we’ve supplied MagNADA™ beads for trials and the customer feedback is positive. We are developing the bead formulation further to improve the quality of the recovered nucleic acid components, particularly the molecular weight distribution of DNA used for sequencing”.

Trials are currently ongoing alongside several commercial partners to test the streamlining effect of NADA™ on a diversity of nucleic acid purification workflows and applications. Those who wish to express their interest in testing NADA™ should contact Dr Rob Rule, CEO at Entropix Ltd: enquiries@entropix.co.uk.
